Kōganji Temple
打掛の芸術
A fully private, reservation-only experience featuring rare ceremonial wedding kimono from Japan's Bubble Economy era.
This exhibition is not open to the public and is offered exclusively to luxury hotel partners and their referred guests, as a fully private, reservation-only experience.
An Eighty Days Exclusive Experience
Eighty Days invites you to an intimate encounter with masterpieces of Japanese textile art. Presented in Kōganji Temple's Yūkōdō (a house of the former branch of the Japanese Royal Family), this experience brings you face-to-face with 6 extraordinary uchikake—ceremonial wedding kimono that represent the pinnacle of craftsmanship from Japan's Bubble Economy era.
Some pieces were created nearly a century ago, featuring lavish embroidery and designs that are now impossible to reproduce. Displayed without glass barriers, you will experience the texture, weight, and intricate detail of these cultural treasures up close.
Formerly part of fashion director Setsuko Wakatsuki's collection, these pieces have been preserved for future generations to appreciate.
